Peter,

I am starting work on a migration tool that will minimize the amount of
discomfort a user will feel when moving form GMC to Nautilus. This tool will
identify the current GMC desktop icons and create analogs to them on the new
Nautilus desktop.  It may do other things as well, but currently I am
focussing on converting the .desktop files.  The tool will be run as part of
the initial launch tasks that occur within the Nautilus first time wizard.

Do you have any other suggestions?
