I agree, but I don't really see a distinction between "installer" and
"updater." (The former has come to be synonymous with the "package
manager" aspect of things, but I don't agree.) If there isn't any
logic to resolve package dependencies, such tools are more time and
effort than they're worth, and you might as well fix the bugs in
gnorpm (or just use rpm from the command line) instead of reinventing
the wheel.
