Yes this would take up more space horizontaly. However if you look @ the
way evolution did there main tool bar you'll see what i mean.
I also think a default nautilus window is wider than the toolbar is long
so in theory you would not
loose that horizontal space but would gain it veticaly.

I also appologize i meant "the text to the right of the icons" like the
evolution toolbar.
