[Nautilus-list] General comments about GNOME look and feel

I would warn against trying to copy look and feel from Windows or
MacOS/Aqua. GNOME should preserve a very distinct look. I understand about
trying to draw people over from Windows, but not if the price being paid is
that of complete compatibility of use.

In my opinion GNOME as of now is superior to Windows in usability. I find
the Windows UI to be childish, especially things like "My Documents" etc.
Also doubtful metaphors like moving a CD to a trashcan to eject it should
not be adopted.

After all a UI should be simple. It is probably an illusion that so much
dragging and dropping and clicking makes an UI more intuitive.
