I wouldn't expect it to be in 1.0.4, I think it was introduced by
setting the EWMH hint for "desktop layer" which seems to have
triggered a sawfish bug in handling of that hint.
However, it shouldn't be fixed in Nautilus, instead people should
upgrade their Sawfish.
