Please don't close the bug, however - I am working on it here. I can
repeat it trivially on Solaris, and I'm hot on the trail - I'm 95%
certain that it's down to the really broken way we handle limited
writev's [ many non Linux Unix' can only handle ~16 iovecs in a writev
]. I'm testing some proto patches here.
