The old view was mp3 dependent which could have led to some patent issues
(for instance redhat did not ship it with redhat 8). You should be able to
build gstreamer independent of the specific plugins, and the gstreamer guys
are now distributing rpms and debs so installation for most users should be
pretty easy.
Keep in mind this change will have absolutely no effect on nautilus itself as
nautilus-media is a seperate independent package. Nautilus is not dependent
on gstreamer yet.
