Re: HIGfing the properties windows

One question. Doesn't it go *against* the spirit of the HIG to define sizes in pixels? What about themes which change inter-widget spacing? There are a few! Another thing: what's the standard measuring unit used in GTK and in the HIG?

I can try to rearrange some spacing/allignment stuff in the properties

Just some design question:
       * 12 px between window border and widgets?
       * 24 px between notebook and buttons?
       * 12 px between notebook internal border and internal widget?

I'm not great at these things, but i think this is what the hig specifies.
Not sure about the notebook/buttons one though.

       * remove separators in "Permissions" tab and using a 18 px
         spacing?

Does the hig say anything about this?

       * Can I use directly numbers (ie. gtk_vbox_new (TRUE, 18) ) or I
         have to use GNOME_*PAD macros?

The GNOME_PAD stuff is some ancient crap. Aren't they?
