automount in nautilus from fstab

I am using 2.3.6 on RH and XD2, and thanks to Jürg's patch I can also mount devices
that appear automatically in fstab.

My question is: is there a way to have devices that update the fstab when installed
(usb drives etc) to also "automount" (and unmount) in nautilus without user
intervention?
After all if I plug in a device it stands to reason I would want to access it
too ;-)
Is this an area nautilus is addressing?
