Status of scripting in nautilus

I am trying to get some scripts to run from nautilus-2.8.1 (I have tried
2.9.2 as well with no luck) that are located in the ~/.gnome2/nautilus-
scrips folder.

Is this functionality currently broken or am I missing something?  (I
have set the permissions to 777 and still not had any luck.)

Maybe if someone posts a bash or perl script that is known to work I can
confirm it is my system and not the scripts I am trying to run.

The specific scripts are webgallery.pl and webgallery-zentiy.pl from
