Nautilus hooks?

Hello there!

I'm developing a little application for my own, private use.

However! I'd like to use some of Nautilus' functions, things like copy, 
files, access to nautilus' metadata-database and so on.

Is there a way to include libnautilus? Is there any documentation anywhere?
