To be honest I don't consider that selection count-based behavior
perfect as well. But when experimenting a bit around I've found out that
having multiple properties menuitems is confusing and irritated me more
than it helped. It revealed that naming confusion will happen
("Properties", "Self Properties") - both entries have the same icon and
very similar functions which forces you to double-check what you're
actually doing. We could have the selection properties item only
available in the context menu and use the file menu exclusively for
displaying the properties of the currently open folder - but oh well,
this could be a keynav problem if I want to display the properties of a
big amount of files by pressing Ctrl-S, selecting "*.ext" and pressing
Alt+Enter afterwards.
Sorry, I can't offer any solution. These are just some random
considerations.
