Well, while honeslty I could like this kink of "under mouse shortcuts"
to those actions, I've to admit that will blame HIG suggestion about
widgets usage.
The location button yet breaks HIG requests: it a button, so it should
perform an action when clickedm, instead it opens a popup menu. A
solution could be replace the button with a drop down list, but HIG says
that drop down lists should not start actions when an item is selected.
Now you are asking to add a righ-clic popup menu... too much IMHO.
Of course a way to perform actions (such as cut/copy and delete/trash)
on an open folder is something that could complete the spatial metaphor.
IMHO the best way to do it is re-arrange menus. A complete description
of my ideas are in bug #130720
A little summary is
* Change the File menu to Folder menu and put here all
command/actions related to the currently opened folder
* Put all commands/actions that changes the content of the folder
under Edit menu (i.e. move Create XXX from File to Edit
* Put all commands/actions that changes the visualizazion of the
folder under View menu (i.e. move the Resize Icone from edit to
View
* Remove non-folder related commands/actions (i.e. Open Location
and Connect to Server); put them in Desktop Backgroun menu
and/or in panel
* Add an Action/Special/XXXX menu to list and use all
actions/commands related to current selection
BTW please note that currently the File->Open in Terminal menu entry
provided by n-o-t opens the open folder or the selected folder in a
terminal window depending on what it's currently selected. IMHO is bad.
