Thumbnail cache maintenance

Hello,
Thanks to kdirstat's treemap view of my home directory I noticed my
Nautilus thumbnail cache is about 330MB big. I wonder if I should delete
everything inside my .thumbnails folder or if there is other recommended
procedure to clean/reset the thumbnail cache.
