clickable icon area

Hi,
here is an idea:
When doubleclicking the icons in nautilus i wasn't able to enter the
folder everytime. So I "investigated" and "found out" that it only
works when i click exactly on the folder icon or on the text next to
it. Wouldn't it be better if there were a bigger area around the icon
where the doubleclicking would be a success? Please CC me on replys
since I am not on the list.
