Exposing yourself over d-bus

Hi, my name is Alex Launi, I'm a developer for the Do project. We wanted to start a discussion with you guys about exposing some of your data over d-bus. Do is a tool that allows you to do things fast with your data, we don't generate our own data but consume the data around us and allow fast, simple manipulation. For instance, we might index your evolution contacts, banshee library, tomboy notes, files and folders, etc. You guys have done a lot of great work with the file actions in nautilus and we'd like to consume these too. It would be awesome if we could talk to nautilus over d-bus and find out what file(s) are currently selected, and then do some action with them. It would be even better if your move/copy/etc. actions were also exposed over d-bus, so that we could reuse your progress dialogs for a much better feeling of integration. What do you guys think? Is this something that you'd be interested in implementing? D-Bus is one of the best technologies the free desktop has for massive integration, the more apps that take advantage of it the better. Look forward to hearing your thoughts.
