This would be a very nice bit of polish to have, but there has been no
activity on the bug since mid 2005. I updated the patch already posted
to that bug for the latest from SVN trunk (r13566). Early comments to
this bug suggest the reason the original patches were not accepted was
because of lack of support for apostrophe-formatting in libc's
printf(), but that doesn't seem to be as much of a worry now that glib
has its own printf implementation.
