Should be only a couple lines:
cvs -d :pserver:anonymous anoncvs gnome org:/cvs/gnome login
cvs -d :pserver:anonymous anoncvs gnome org:/cvs/gnome co -rSTABLE_0_3 NetworkManager
The "-rSTABLE_0_3" tells CVS to pull down just the STABLE_0_3 branch.
