I was able to get it working with the patch. The patch it not a part of
the FC5 rpms, but should be (at least a build option). I know the patch
isn't desired in upstream. But if so, then NM shouldn't lie and say
that ndiswrapper (etc) is "fully-supported":
<information> wlan0: Device is fully-supported using driver
'ndiswrapper'.
Perhaps a "wlan0: Device 'ndiswrapper' is not supported due to lack of
WEXT compliance" message would be better.
