Hi Michael. Thanks for the tip. I upgraded to ORBit 0.5.3 and I still have the
same problem.
I also checked for any spaces or NL chars at the end of the IOR and still
doesn't work.

If you were to debug this, how would you start. I usually worry only on
debugging my apps, so when it comes to hacking around in
CORBA_ORB_string_to_object, I guess I don't know where to start.

I will download the ORBit source and see if I can find a way to debug this.If
you (or anyone else on the list) could lend a hand as to how to setup a
debugging scenario for this it would be greatly appreciated. I've used gdb and
the front end xxgdb a little but I would really have no clue as to how to
include the ORBit source into view and trace through the code.

The help I'm asking for is not a step by step guide but rather high level
explanations on how to do it.

Again if anyone can help it would be great.
