Hi Jan:
One *can* make orca run on a GNOME 2.12 system, but what you'll
basically doing is pulling in needed bits from GNOME 2.14. Since
Orca is not at a 1.0 level yet, and since GNOME 2.14 bits are
becoming more and more easily available (e.g., Fedora Core 5 and
Ubuntu Dapper Drake), the path of least resistance here would be to
just go to GNOME 2.14.

No, 2.12 because it is the latest version in Debian amd64.

I can of course install form cvs but it is not easy. I am not sure
which
components are significant. gnome session? gnome desktop?

I don't understand very well now. My X with gnome session start and
metacity too but some applications the firefox for example finish with
segfault. If I switch the accessibility off then firefox works OK.
