Hi.  I personally managed to install Solaris via a serial tty line.  I
didn't install it on any Intel hardware though, so the procedures may be a
bit different. At least on Sun workstations, the OpenBoot firmware can
detect whether the keyboard is connected to the workstation.  If not, the
output is immediately directed to ttyA which becomes the system's console
port.  When you get the "OK" prompt from the openboot firmware, you can
type something like" boot cdrom and the installation will start.  Its
completely accessible.  I do know for afact taht Intel hardware has no
support for a console port, but I'm sure tis possible, its just that I
don't have the information you seek.
