Hello all, i've installed ubuntu hardy today and have a couple questions.
1. after installing ubuntu hardy i cannot get speech-dispatcher to run.
I've done an apt-get update and apt-get install speech-dispatcher
I've also followed the instructions on the orca wiki about installing python-speechd
When speech-dispatcher is installed I made a change to /etc/default/speech-dispatcher to make it run as
speechd yes as the erorr I got when trying to do /etc/init.d/speech-dispatcher start resulted
after making the change in /etc/default/speech-dispatcher and restarting the speech server, I do an spd-say
test.
nothing happens. I restart orca and speech-dispatcher shows up in the available speech system combobox. but
when switching to the speech-dispatcher system option and applying it in orca everythign breaks and I have to
remove the .orca directory in my /home directory
am I doing something wrong here?
2. I read somewhere that ttsynth in ubuntu hardy isn't supported anymore because of an old lib problem, is
this true for voxin as well?
Thanks for all your help. Farhan
