Hi,
the version of IBM tts that comes with voxin can't do mixed case processing
when used with either gnome-speech or speech-dispatcher.
It's very responsive though and it shuts up when you tell it to.

I have two questions about Voxen.
does this version of Eloquence give you mixed case processing? In other
words, how is the following string pronounced:
"ThisStringShouldBePronouncedAsMultipleWords."
The version of IBMTTS which comes with the ttSynth package does not do this.
Also, how is the responsiveness of Voxen? Again, ttSynth does not shut up
when asked most of the time. So, if you do something at the terminal that
produces lots of output (like a make etc), its very hard to get the
synthesizer to stop talking when a key is pressed.
Thanx for any info...

Hi,
Yes it is running here.
Before run the installation script I copied the directory Ubuntu.8.04 as
Ubuntu.8.10. Both directories may reside under a directory called packages.
I tried to install with speech-dispatcher but it didn't work. I'm
running with gnome-speech.

Hi,
I'm using voxin with Ubuntu and it works relatively well.
I am facing some problems regarding sound when via voice is active.
Another point is that there is no package to intrepid, although it is
possible to install voxin under intrepid.

Hi all,
I have read in some posts that it's possible to use eloquence i orca
screen reader.
Could you give me some suggestions for that please?
if it's not possible, coud you suggest me another synthetizer that is
more clear than
the original one?
if it's possible I'm even looking for a voice that uses the italian
language.
Thanks in advance
regards, Sauro
