Re: [orca-list] Status of claws-mail

Hi Lorenzo.

Please see:

http://www.thewildbeast.co.uk/claws-mail/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1270

At this point, I am working on other things (continued work in Orca,
along with accessibility testing for WebKit). Perhaps if users were to
ping these bugs, more attention would be paid to them.

Thanks and take care.

I just tried to use claws-mail, but found I couldn't read the message list or
folder list. There is something that shows up as a scroll pane and something
else that just shows up as a panel. I would be very interested in using
claws-mail on a regular basis, because out of all the available gnome-based mail
readers and others that work with Orca, claws-mail seems to be by far the most
configurable. Is there a technical reason why it seems to still be unusable with
Orca? Is it simply a matter of filing the bug report in the right place? If so,
please let me know and I will file the bug report. Has there as yet been any
communication with the claws-mail developers to try to track down where the
problem is? Someone more knowledgeable about the accessibility infrastructure
may need to help solve this problem, because I usually end up getting the hard
questions about how internals work when I try to discuss how Orca works with an
application and I don't really know that much about the internals.

Thanks for any help,
Lorenzo
