Dear List,
I have got a question only before I open a bugreport with Orca/Acroread accessibility if this is need:
I would like help an user, with tells me some time impossible using Acroread with document reading and
reading the opened document with Orca.
Some documents working right the navigation and possible browsing the document, but some document is not,
and only help if he save as the original PDF document with text file in Acroread or use pdftotext
commandline application with this problematic documents.
I found both two example document with possible test:
1. Following document is wonderful possible read with Acroread and Orca if the proper accessibility related
settings is setted in Acroread with 32 bit platform:
http://fullcircle.hu/pdf/issue35_hu.pdf
2. The second attached document is impossible to navigate, and I only working method to save as the
document with txt file and read the document with Gedit application. Of course, pdftotext commandline
application wonderful convert this document.
I not see with blind, what the difference with two document? Why working the first linked document in
Acroread and Orca accessibility integration and why not working the second attached document? Possible the
second pdf file is different format?
This problem is Orca or Acroread side problem?
Attila
Hi Attila,
The first PDF [1] have a graphical layout the second not (is just only plain text). I think that the
page structure in first document is related with a11y navigation in Acroread.
Maybe ocrfeeder should solve your problem (a bit time and resources consuming) if responsiveness is
not a must.
