I wasn't able to get Orca running with eSpeak, so someone else may have to help with that. I can only tell
you what I did.
I installed svox-pico-git and picospeaker from AUR. Then I dropped in a hand-crafted picospeaker-generic.conf
file and configured speech-dispatcher to use it by default. So it's not using eSpeak, but it works pretty
well. If you'd like, I'll direct mail you a copy of my picospeaker-generic.conf file later this evening.

Hi all,
Sorry for being off topic, but this is really annoying.
I am getting no speech in Gnome. The setup screen for Orca is not spoken.
How did you get speech/sound in the latest Arch under Gnome?
Many thanks for any help,
Christian
