Exactly my point in my prior message.  Does such a feature negatively impact the experience for somebody who 
doesn't use a11y?  Perhaps webkit gtk could do something with the mouse ointer to make it mimic the caret.  
Then, we'd need to have Orca switch to using it or leverage the flat review functionality to use the mouse 
pointer somehow.  Either way, if these things are either built into the library they use to code with or the 
api that makes them accessible, the dependence on individual developers wouldn't be such a factor.  I bet 
it's not unheard of for people to flatly refuse to modify their code to make it accessible.  In fact, I seem 
to remember something like that happening with Pulse audio which is why it doesn't work in console without 
serious hacks.

If all these apps would just make navigation possible, and there's nothing special Orca needs to do, that 
would be ideal!  Why not just make this navigation be on as the webkit default; app developers who use webkit 
wouldn't have to worry about the extra line or 2 of code.
