I'm quite confused on the at-spi vs at-spi2 transition, which toolkit
is currently using which interface.
I don't know whether fc-17 installs at-spi out of the box or not since
I upgraded from fc-16 by yum which synch'd all fc-16 packages,
including at-spi. I don't need at-spi, only at-spi2 so I've now
removed it.
You can check whether at-spi is installed with something like
yum whatprovides `locate at-spi-registryd`
However if it's installed your problems aren't over.
Here's something from my mesages file:
messages-20120603:Jun 2 08:36:42 raynernix2 abrt[1373]: Saved core dump of pid 1361
(/usr/libexec/at-spi-registryd) to /var/spool/abrt/ccpp-2012-06-02-08:36:42-1361 (1490944 bytes)
messages-20120603:Jun 2 08:36:43 raynernix2 gnome-session[1352]: WARNING: Application
'at-spi-registryd.desktop' killed by signal 11
Signal 11 is a segmentation violation.
I've not looked at the source this time but there used to be a bug in
at-spi-registryd that g_types_init() wasn't called to initialize the
object system, although that produced an assertion failure not a
segmentation violation.
I would have a look at /var/log/messages to see whether
at-spi-registryd is crashing. If it is, we can perhaps have a look at
why.
cheers
Peter
