Correct. Pkill looks up the process id's for you and then kills them.
It's very cool.

As for why we didn't always use it: Pkill didn't used to find the Orca
processes because Orca wasn't setting the name in such a way that
pkill could do so. Orca now sets the name in such a way that pkill can
find it.
