I'm sure this question has been asked before, and if so I apologize for cluttering up the list, but would
it be
possible/feasable to add orca support to chromium?
It has been partly implemented but, when I last looked, required a lot more
work to complete the code.
I also discovered quite quickly that in order to help with this, you really
should have a machine with the recommended 8GB of RAM to complete the
compilation process. My hardware has only 4GB, so the build process is
extremely slow and uses a lot of swap space. It also takes the temperatures
far too high - possibly a fan issue that I haven't tracked down.
If you know C++ and have a modern machine with the required resources, I'm
sure the Chromium project would welcome contributions. Essentially, it's a
multi-process browser. All of the accessibility-related information is
transferred between the browser process and the rendering processes, and
support for individual operating systems is provided in the browser process.
