Re: [orca-list] Orca and current best compatible linux distro and desktop

hi
Nothing more than the occasionally verbosity. Sometimes you have to go
back over the same icon once or twice before orca will read it but
that's really it. There are no major accessibility issues in the
terminals that I know of. I've tested mate's gtk3 version, in fact I
have it installed on my system hear and it's a lot better. But there's
currently a bug that keeps the desktop icons from reading so it's not
ready for the average user yet until the bugs get fixed. For those I
recommend normal mate, which is based on gtk2.

All these things work. There are problems with the sonar mate edition
that have nothing to do with mate itself. Something we're doing is
preventing built images from booting. The top and bottom panels can
sometimes be a little weird with orca, but this is all supposed to be
fixed once mate finishes moving over to gtk3, which it's currently in
the process of doing.
Ok, so what is the inconsistency level?
I think mate is going to be really good on low memory machines and I
have also herd that the looks are good enough professional.
I will download Ubuntu mate eddition and give it a try in a day or two.
happy hacking.
