Re: [orca-list] an interesting bug

Hi Kendell.

I just tried Orca master with Firefox nightly. I'm using the Desktop
keyboard layout. With this in mind:

1. Orca always announces when I toggle caps lock on and off.
2. Alt+Shift+B brings up the list of buttons if I'm in page content.
3. Alt+Shift+B does not bring up the list of buttons if I'm not in page
content (e.g. if I move focus to the address bar before using the
command). This behavior is on purpose.

I'm not sure why Orca is not announcing the toggling of caps lock for
you. When you use the Orca commands for web content, are you sure you're
in the web content and not in Firefox's GUI?

On a related note, while all bugs are interesting, having a hint in the
subject regarding what the nature of the bug is would be appreciated.
Thanks!

hi all
I'm writing in to report an odd bug. Steps to reproduce. Open a mozilla
based browser (firefox, seamonkey, etc). Turn on caps lock with the caps
lock key. Orca will usually not announce that the caps lock key is on.
Press alt+shift+b to open up the list of buttons. Instead, the bookmark
menu pops up. The other shortcuts, alt+shift+k to open up the list of
links, alt+shift+l to open up the list of lists, etc don't work either.
The interesting thing about this is that even once caps lock is turned
off the bug persists. The only way I've found to bring it back is either
to kill orca or close your browser and re open it with caps lock off.
Can anyone else confirm this? This is with sonar linux 64 bit,
completely up to date as of ten minutes ago, with an up to date orca master.
Thanks
Kendell Clark
