[orca-list] No Speech after login.

Hi!
Most of the time i use braille to login to Mate on my Debian Stretch distro.
But sometimes braille isn’t enough to explore a site or dialog.
BUt i don’t have no sound at all when i am logged in to mate.
Only at the login screen.
 that the sound is turned on and not muted.
And the selected speech is espeak.ng but not sure why no sound is heard.
Any hints?
