Now it's working fine.  Coconut renamed my wifi connection and once I 
brought it up with ifconfig nmtui with activate selection and the 
correct Essid was able to do the rest.

How's the wifi working in your coconut?
I notice that some of the accessibility programs are not in repository; have 
the packagers considered making a ppa for this stuff?? Pushing updates of the 
unpackaged stuff is going to be hard.
