A couple ways this can be done, but I'll leave you with what works
regularly for me rather than go the graphical route which sometimes works.
Open up a terminal alt-f2 mate-terminal Then run nmtui Use up and down
arrows to locate activate network. Hit enter. Use up and down arrows again
since you should be in available networks like ethernet or wifi. Choose
wifi and hit enter. Use up and down arrows to find desired wifi network
and hit enter. You should get prompted for credentials. If so, enter them.
If you get a good entry, your connection will have a star beside it. Tab
over that and past delete and get to quit and hit enter. Then do ping -a
-c 5 www.google.com and hit enter. If you get connection information and
hear five beeps, your internet is now up. Good luck! On Thu, 27 Sep 2018,
