PS: it's easy to check: if the output of this command:
ldd /usr/bin/espeak-ng|grep libsonic
is empty, there is no support for libsonic.

Howdy,
looking here:
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/espeak-ng-git/
Kyle didn't mention sonic as a dependency.
So I assume that to get its support you'd have to install sonic and
rebuild the packages, as ./configure --help says:
--with-sonic enable the sonic library to speed up the audio
[default=yes]

hi all,
is the version of espeak-ng on arch linux compiled with libsonic
support?
just discovered libsonic-git from the aur and was curious if i would
have to rebuild espeak-ng once libsonic-git is installed or will it
just work?
thanks for reading,
