Hi Norman!
Emacs does not work with Orca but it is completely accessible. You need
to install "emacspeak" package. It will make Emacs work with espeak.
My mentor, Krishnakant Mane configured it and is a happy user. Here is a
blog he wrote about EMacs.

Hi.
I tried emacs but can't get it to work with orca. Are there any
special tricks to that?

Emacs will certainly do line numbers. They don't have python
inteelisense as far as I know, although they have a python mode.

Hello.
Is there a good text editor out there for ubuntu that will speak
line numbers?
Python intelesense support would also be a nice bonus.
Thanks.
