I know it's not the same as "time spent", but I've been wanting to implement a "work done" field, which can be seen as a time representation of the "% Complete" field. (http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.gnome.apps.planner.devel/1749) It's been sidetracked though in favor of solving long-standing bugs and implementing higher priority features.
