iRiver support (was: Re: [Rhythmbox-devel] xine metadata, and iPod HAL support)

Hi all

Of course, it is easy to treat the iRiver as an external disk. This
could be added to the source list as a new device like any other
location, I assume. BTW Is it possible to get rid of the iPod icon?

Syncing should be rather straightforward, too. I use rsync for this
purpose (http://www.eskimo.com/~roger/programming/iriver_ihp-120.html).

With respect to the database there are specs and code available for
generating it. Unfortunately, I have no experience in C/C++, just Java
and Python. In fact, I was going to use the available Python code to add
Zope support (Web-based editing of the database).

The code I found on the Web even supports Ogg, which the original on
Windows does not. You may want to take a look at the following links:

good luck in case you try (and thanks in advance if you do!)
