i love the way it is to work with, but i have 3 things i would like to
see improved..
1. some way to make a playlist out of albums, maybe even artist.
Jonathan Matthew has been doing some work on this, and there is a patch
attached to http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=147337. It lets
you drag albums, artist and genres to the source list which creates an
automatic playlist for that album/artist/genre. There was also a patch
posted to the mailing list abut two weeks ago, which added a menu item
to create a playlist from the currently selected genres, artists and
albums.
2. fade in and out ting...between numbers.
Crossfading, or even just gapless playback is something that has been
requested for quite a while. I'm not aware of any work that has been
done towards this - amaroK has support for this with it's GStreamer
backend, but I don't think it's as easy as just borrowing some of their
code.
3. a queue method, like what the next track i want to here is...
something like the "BMP" queue troggle... 1.2.3.4 and so on...
There was some work (also by Jonathan) done a few months ago, which was
in the "merge" arch branch. There were some issues that never got
resolved (how it fits in the UI) and I think he wanted to clean it up
before proposing it for cvs. We should see this some time in the
future, but when i'm not sure.
Cheers,
James "Doc" Livingston
