Re: [Rhythmbox-devel] Suggestions

What could be possible is to ship a Gtk rc style file with Rhythmbox,
so that it has its special look that doesn't affect the rest of the
desktop. Maybe shipping a custom gtk theme engine would even be
possible. But indeed all this would break the desktop-neutrality rule
(beside being a lot of work and maybe a bug attractor).

By the way, is that written in the stone ? I'm starting to think that
RB would benefit from custom widgets with more eye-candy (e.g. an
enhanced album art widget, a more powerful slider for the current play
position, a custom panel for docking various UI elements...). Some can
be made of standard widgets (maybe styled by a rc file).

Christophe.

Rhythmbox uses the currently-active GNOME theme and is designed to
blend in with the rest of your desktop applications (i.e. have the
same "look-and-feel" as the rest of your desktop). If you would like
a "cool look", then choose a GNOME theme that has more "eye-candy" and
rhythmbox will use it.

I'm not sure what "sound-effects" a music player really needs? I
would find a music player that made noises when you (say) changed the
source or opened a playlist rather annoying.
