I'm a bit surprised by your impatience. In a private email from two
days ago, I told you that I'll get back to continue writing the
sparkle-plugin, which is a C-based rhythmbox-plugin, within a few days.
This will also lead to my code landing in a public repository so
everybody can take a look if they want. But since I'm still busy with
higher-priority task from work, it'll take a bit until this happens.

In the meantime you can take a look at the examples available at...

        http://www.cairographics.org/OpenGL

... where most of the samples use GtkGlExt and GtkDrawingArea. While
these are not rhythmbox-specific, they will provide you simple to follow
code for dealing with GtkGlExt and GtkDrawingArea.

A general hint... just relax and don't rush people. Most if not all are
volunteers working on rhythmbox. They spent their free time working on
this because they feel they need to or just enjoy this kind of work.
"Demanding" immediate replies as if you bought some service from them,
will spoil their fun working on it... which might in extreme cases make
people quit projects. That's the last thing anyone wants. The best
approach is to be patient, friendly and persistent (with learning :).
That approach will gain you a lot in the long run. Trust me!

Regards...

Mirco
