Rhythmbox absolutely should not be modifying files, unless you
directly tell it to using the song properties window. Please file a
bug (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=rhythmbox) and
attach output from 'rhythmbox -d' from when this happens.
