Hello,
With an up to date CVS:
- tracker-search doesn't work:
$ tracker-search hello
** (process:30954): WARNING **: An error has occured : No reply within
specified time
(A typo? Is it "occurred" or "occured"?)
And same thing from dbus-send command:
$ /usr/bin/dbus-send --dest='org.freedesktop.Tracker'
--type=method_call --print-reply
--reply-timeout=20000 /org/freedesktop/tracker
org.freedesktop.Tracker.Search.Text int32:-1 string:"Files"
string:"hello" int32:512 boolean:false
Error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: No reply within specified
time
The dbus-send command worked some days ago (in the beginning of the week
and before?) but I never saw tracker-search to work due to DBus issues.
it only failed cause trackerd hanged - these issues have been fixed
today so please check out again and test.
I did an cvs update and some tests just before sending this email and
the problem is still there:
$ tracker-search "hello" # it worked!
$ tracker-search "hello"
** (process:8753): WARNING **: An error has occured : No reply within
specified time
$
As you can see, on the first line it worked! Before, I just remove my
~/.Tracker directory because I had some database corruptions (kill
trackerd with "kill -9" seems to be a bad idea!). In tracker.log, I have
at the last line:
30 Jul 2006, 21:30:34:135 - Executing search with params Files, hello.
512, 0, 030 Jul 2006, 21:30:34:167 - search returned no results
So it only received my first search request...
Laurent.
