Hi Luca,
SparQL is a standard query language [1] that we will use in the 0.7 series. The "basic" language only allows queries, but we implement also some proposed "extensions" [2] to add updates and deletions
When you use --update option in that command line, you are saying that you are using those extensions in your query (internally those queries go through a different method in the API).
