The Deskbar applet packaged with Tracker is currently out of date
and needs some love to get it working with the new APIs. It is in
the same state as it was for 0.6. As such it isn't expected to
work.
I got the idea Tracker had currently *no* GUI working with it, but the
"NOTES:" in the release note (above) got me confused.
So:
* Is there any GUI working with Tracker 0.7x ?
tracker-search-bar, a GNOME panel applet, and tracker-search-tool, a
standalone fulltext search GUI, are included with Tracker. More GUI
tools that are also included are tracker-status-icon,
tracker-preferences, and tracker-explorer.
* Is it indexing e-mails from Evolution?
Yes, Tracker also ships with an Evolution plugin that indexes emails
from Evolution, however, still without full-text indexing the actual
email bodies, as far as I know.
