These have now popped up which I also need to work on configure: error: Package requirements (glib-2.0 >= 2.44.0 libsoup-2.4 >= 2.40 libxml-2.0 >= 2.6 json-glib-1.0 >= 1.0) were not met: No package 'libsoup-2.4' foundlibsoup-2.4 is missing $ apt-file search libsoup-2.4.pc libsoup2.4-dev: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/pkgconfig/libsoup-2.4.pc
Thanks Michael, had to install libseccomp-dev also. Finally though it's installed with not errors or warnings. Question though, if I run chris@localhost:~/Downloads/tracker-1.12.0$ apt-cache policy tracker tracker: Installed: 1.8.3-0ubuntu0~xenial2 Candidate: 1.8.3-0ubuntu0~xenial2 Version table: *** 1.8.3-0ubuntu0~xenial2 500 However checking with chris@localhost:~$ tracker --version Tracker 1.12.0 Must I remove the 1.8.3 version with sudo apt remove tracker since I installed the new version from source?
