As a first step towards Nautilus integration, I propose that the search
results be displayed in a new Nautilus window instead of the Search window
itself. If Nautilus isn't yet capable of handling virtual folders yet, it
could possibly be simulated by letting the Search tool create a temporary
directory with symlinks to the search results, and asking Nautilus to
display that directory. WDYT?
