<shrug> that it is alt+f4 in some places is /because/ people are paying
attention to the (horribly out of date) online docs; like I said, there
should really be a link from the current HTML version to the XML in CVS
saying 'READ THESE FIRST.' Obviously, having up-to-date HTML would be
even better but I realize that is a big task.

I do some of this when I see it, but without a reasonably up-to-date
online reference that I can point to in a bug report I will not file
bugs I'm unsure about, nor should anyone else. Maintainers can and will
reject bugs that say 'change this because I say so' instead of 'change
this because section X of the HIG [linked to here] suggests that it is
better and more consistent.'

This is not an unreasonable solution; I'd prefer to see at least the
parent bugs filed by someone who is active in the GUP, though.
